Still Catching Up . . .
I had originally planned to craft this tea for the Holiday box, however, I wasn’t able to get some of the ingredients in time. Those ingredients arrived about a week after I finished up the teas for the box, so I decided to turn it into a monthly tea instead.
It starts with a black tea base of Assam, Yunnan & Vietnamese teas. Then I added marshmallow root & vanilla bean to create a “pavlova” note & of course, freeze-dried pomegranate arils.
This is so good! The pomegranate has a bright, juicy, sweet-tart flavor while the combination of marshmallow & vanilla deliver on the pavlova notes. The black tea base provides a rich, smooth flavor to bring it all together.
It’s also organic, vegan, allergen-friendly & gluten-free!
organic ingredients: black teas, marshmallow root, pomegranate, vanilla beans & natural flavors
to brew- shake before measuring to ensure that the ingredients are well incorporated. Use 3g of tea to 12 oz of nearly boiling (205°F) water. Steep for 3 ½ minutes, strain & allow to cool for at least 10 minutes. Enjoy!
serving suggestion: I love this hot, but it’s also nice iced. It doesn’t require additions, but if you want to enhance the overall “decadent dessert” that pavlova suggests, add a teensy bit of sugar. This will bring out the meringue-y notes of pavlova!
