Still Getting Caught Up . . .
This is the culmination of two ideas: I wanted a blackberry tea & I wanted a coffee cake tea, so I decided to fuse those two ideas together to create one dynamic tisane!
This is really nice! The blackberry is prominent, while the spices (cinnamon & ginger) are gentle & provide just the right amount of warmth to the coffee cake flavoring. A hint of brown sugar ties it all together in this yummy drink.
It’s naturally caffeine free, so it’s perfect for that late night cuppa & it’s dessert-y enough to take the place of something a bit heavier (those heavy treats are a bit much on these hotter days, aren’t they?)
organic ingredients: honeybush, blackberries, cinnamon, ginger, calendula petals & natural flavors
to brew: shake the pouch gently before measuring to make sure all the ingredients are well incorporated. Use 3 ½ grams of tea to 12oz of very hot water (190°F) & steep for 6 – 10 minutes (the longer the better, you can go longer than 10 minutes & it won’t go bitter on you!) strain & allow to cool for about 5 minutes. Enjoy!
serving suggestion: I found this drink to be sweet enough without additions, but if you want a sweeter drink, go right ahead. I found that when I did add some sweetener, it defined the flavors a bit better. Try it with some honey! It’s great hot or iced, too!
