Still Getting Caught Up . . .
After blending the Partridgeberry in a Pear Tea for this past holiday box, I had some lingonberries left so I decided to create another lingonberry tea – which is what this tisane is. Fresh green rooibos blended with lingonberries, ginger & cinnamon, plus a hint of lemon lime soda essence.
It’s a little sweet & a little tart with a gentle note of spice. The spices aren’t meant to be overwhelming here, just enough to accent the lingonberry nicely.
This blend makes a stunning iced tea (cold-brew!) & it even tastes good as a hot drink, if you prefer it that way. It’s naturally caffeine-free, all natural, organic, vegan, gluten-free & allergen-friendly.
organic ingredients: green rooibos, lingonberries, cinnamon, ginger & natural flavors
to brew: use 3 ½ grams of the tisane to 12 oz of very hot water (190°F) & steep for 10 minutes. Strain & allow it to cool for at least 5 minutes before you start sipping, or you can allow it to cool completely & refrigerate it for a cold drink. To cold-brew, use the same ratio of tea to water, place it in a jar or other vessel & refrigerate it for at least 4 – 6 hours (or leave it overnight for best flavor!) Strain & enjoy!
serving suggestion: I prefer this iced, maybe because it does have that soda taste & vibe so it works best as an iced drink (I don’t drink my soda hot! LOL) It tastes amazing as a cold-brew, but I also do enjoy it as a hot drink, it tastes a bit less like soda & more like a gently spiced lingonberry cider when served hot. No sweetener necessary, it tastes great without, but a teensy bit of sugar will make this taste more like “soda”.
