Still Getting Caught Up . . .
This amazing tea starts with a gorgeous Bi Xiang Zhao cultivar tea grown in the Hunan province. The tea steeps to a beautiful, pale blonde color. Without flavoring, the sip is mild, with pleasant vegetal notes that are crisp & clean. The flavor is slightly sweet, not bitter & suggested to me that it would pair nicely with a sweet berry note. I chose strawberries. As I was blending this, the name “Strawberry Blonde” came to me because of the color of the tea & of course, strawberries. With this decision came another: add some vanilla bean!
The final result is a tea that is smooth, sweet & refreshing. It has a clean finish & it’s so enjoyable to sip. I tested it as a hot drink, as the weather has become somewhat cooler as of late, but I imagine it would also make a fantastic cold brew!
ingredients: green tea
organic ingredients: strawberries, vanilla beans & natural flavors
to brew: use 3g of tea to 12oz of very hot water (175°F) & steep for 2 minutes. Strain & allow to cool for at least 5 minutes. Enjoy!
serving suggestion: I tested it hot & I can attest that this makes a stunning hot tea. While I didn’t test it cold brewed, I think it would also work nicely as a cold brew tea. It tastes great without sweetener, but a teensy bit of sugar will bring out more of the vanilla notes.
