Still Getting Caught Up . . .
This tea is a reblend from Frank’s era. If memory serves (and it doesn’t always do so) it was a VIT at the time – the year 2010? (That last part is a guess based on the oldest tea notes posted on Steepster.) Anyway, it was a long time ago. Longer than I’ve been doing this 52Teas thing.
But I do recall enjoying this one quite a bit, so when one of my favorite customers mentioned that this tea sounded good, I decided to go ahead & reblend it.
I sure am glad I did so! This is so tasty! The blackcurrants are tangy & bright, just a wee bit tart, but there’s also enough sweetness to them so that it doesn’t cause a pucker. The white tea is smooth & crisp. It offers a really pleasant base for the blackcurrants. A really enjoyable cuppa!
organic ingredients: white tea, blackcurrants & natural flavors
to brew: use 3g of tea to 12 oz of hot water (170°F) & steep for about 4 to 4 ½ minutes. Strain & enjoy. You can resteep this several times to get the most out of your leaves, I recommend adding an additional 30 seconds of steep time onto the subsequent steeps.
serving suggestion: this time of year, I’m not really in the mood for iced tea, but with this tea, I made an exception! It makes a stunning glass of iced tea & I highly recommend cold-brewing it for maximum effect. However, it’s quite nice as a hot drink as well, so if you’re in the mood for a hot tea, this one will serve you well.
