Still Getting Caught Up . . .
This tea starts with a gently roasted Fujian Black tea, to which I added a teensy bit of Lapsang Souchong to bring out more of that smoky, roasted character. Then I added pumpkin, bananas & spices including allspice, cinnamon, ginger & just a hint of black pepper.
The flavor is unique & intriguing. The base has subtle dark chocolate notes & hints of burnt sugar. It tastes smooth & rich. The banana is sweet & melds beautifully with the notes of pumpkin. The spices are not overwhelming – they accent the flavors & create an overall autumnal flavor to the cup. So nice.
Vegan, gluten-free, allergen-friendly & all natural – not to mention delicious!
ingredients: black tea
organic ingredients: black tea, bananas, pumpkin, cinnamon, ginger, allspice, black peppercorns & natural flavors
to brew: shake the pouch prior to measuring to ensure that all the ingredients are well-incorporated. use 3g of tea to 12oz of nearly boiling (205°F) water & steep for 3 – 4 minutes. Strain & allow to cool for at least 10 minutes.
serving suggestion: I think this blend is best served hot, but it tastes good iced as well. I like it with a drizzle of honey, which brings out the spiced notes really nicely.
