Description
I was inspired to create this after trying a tasty drink from my favorite boba haunt one warm afternoon. The black tea they use for all of their black tea beverages is an Earl Grey & the boba drink I had that on the afternoon in question was a black tea lemonade (aka an Arnold Palmer, I guess? Although they didn’t call it that.)
Prior to that afternoon, I had tried other boba drinks, but not a black tea lemonade. I figured an Arnold Palmer was an Arnold Palmer, right? I’ve had that before. But – I have never had an Arnold Palmer made with Earl Grey tea as the black tea base.
And let me tell you – it was stunning! I love the way the bergamot plays with the lemon – it makes for a much brighter drink than your average Arnold Palmer!
This blend starts with a base of black teas (Assam, Vietnamese & Ceylon). Then I added cold-pressed bergamot oil, lemons, lemon myrtle & some vanilla just to soften the edge a bit.
This tastes amazing hot or iced – but I highly recommend cold-brewing this one. It’s so good!
organic ingredients: black teas, bergamot oil, lemon myrtle, lemons, vanilla bean & natural flavors
to brew: shake the pouch well to ensure all ingredients are well-incorporated. Use 3g of tea to 12oz of nearly boiling water (205°F) & steep for 3 minutes. Strain & allow to cool for at least 10 minutes.
serving suggestion: I highly recommend cold-brewing this one by using the same measurements as stated above but instead of hot steeping, stashing the whole thing in the fridge & allow it to steep in the chillbox for several hours (overnight is best). Strain & enjoy.
It’s also quite good as a hot drink, but since we’re experiencing temperatures nearing 100°F out there right now, I want cool refreshment & this tea as a cold drink satisfies!
