Countdown to Catching Up, Part 3 – Tea 3 (Counting Down from 10 to 1!)
It’s Back! This tea was reblended because I had a request to reblend it & I’m so happy to have it back in stock.
This is a blend I crafted way back in 2016 & I’ve reblended it once since then, but when one of my subscribers contacted me to ask me to reblend it again, I decided to do it, because YUM! I love this blend!
It starts with a blend of black teas (Yunnan & Assam) & then I add just a teensy bit of Lapsang Souchong. Just enough to add a pleasant smokiness to the blend without it overwhelming it. Then I add a bunch of coconut. The sweet, creamy flavor of the coconut combine with the smokiness & the nicely round, bold black tea flavors is quite delightful, if I do say so myself!
It’s also organic, vegan & gluten-free. However, it does contain coconuts, so if you’re sensitive to coconut, please take that into consideration.
organic ingredients: black teas, coconut & natural flavors
to brew: shake the pouch to make sure the coconut is evenly distributed throughout the blend. Use 3g of tea to 12oz of nearly boiling water (205°F) & steep for 3 ½ minutes. Strain & allow to cool for at least 10 minutes before you start sipping. This allows the flavors to develop (plus saves your tongue from potentially being scorched!) The cool time also allows the smokiness to soften just a bit, so that it doesn’t overwhelm the palate with that first sip.
serving suggestion: I enjoy this tea without any additions, but I find that a teensy bit of sugar (½ teaspoon) will help enhance the coconut’s natural sweetness & really allow the delightful coconut flavor to pop. It’s great served hot, but I also enjoy it iced!
