Still Getting Caught Up . . .

I’ve been doing this 52Teas thing for over 10 years now! Yep, time certainly does fly! Over the course of those 10 years, I’ve made a LOT of different vanilla and/or marshmallow black teas. All with a black tea base, all with vanilla and/or marshmallow as their primary flavor profile (other than the tea, of course!) Have I made 19 different vanilla and/or marshmallow black teas?

To be completely honest, I don’t know for certain, but it certainly feels like it.

I mean, if I had a spare few hours, I could probably go back into my various archives & try to calculate exactly how many I’ve crafted over the past decade, but, since I am seriously behind, I feel like my time is better utilized focusing on blending tea.

So, here it is, Vanilla #19! This blend starts with Chinese black gunpowder tea which has a naturally rich, earthy & somewhat dark chocolate-y profile. To it, I added vanilla bean & marshmallow root, as well as vanilla extract. Then I added some blue cornflower petals because all teas deserve to look as beautiful as they taste.

Yes, it’s as delicious as it sounds! It’s also organic, vegan, gluten-free, allergen-friendly & all natural!

organic ingredients: black tea, marshmallow root, vanilla beans, cornflower petals & natural flavors

to brew: be sure to give the pouch a gentle upside down shake before you open it, as the teeny vanilla beans like to settle to the bottom. Then measure out 3g of tea to 12oz of nearly boiling water (205°F) & allow to steep for 3 minutes, strain & allow to cool for at least 10 minutes before you start sipping to allow the flavors to develop.

serving suggestion: as I sit here, sipping on this tea & writing this, I’m drinking it hot without any additions. If you want a latte, it’s amazing with a splash of milk! I also have tried it sweetened with a teensy bit of sugar & this will bring out the more marshmallow-y tones to the drink. It’s also really good as a cold-brew!
