Countdown to Catching Up, Part 3 – Tea 4 (Counting Down from 10 to 1!)
When it comes to choosing which teas I’ll craft for a “Reblend Month” – I generally select teas that rated highly in the holiday poll from the previous year. But sometimes (like this time) I chose a tea that I’ve simply been missing.
This is one of my all-time favorite green teas. The last time I reblended this tea was in June 2023, so it wasn’t that long ago, but it sold out quickly – which tells me that it’s a favorite of some of my favorite tea people too! (My customers are the best tea people out there!)
I love the way the banana & the peach come together in this one. It’s also one that tastes better when it’s served chilled after cold-brewing, so it’s PERFECT for right now, when the temperatures are scorching! Seriously, It’s in the 90s right now! Yeah, yeah, it’s June & I realize it’s probably not as hot here in the Pacific Northwest as it is in other parts of the world, but, I just – don’t appreciate warm weather as much as others might. I’m already missing our pleasantly chilly early spring weather.
Anyway – try this tea! It’s fantastic! It’s also organic, vegan, gluten-free & allergen-friendly!
organic ingredients: green tea, bananas, peaches & natural flavors
to brew: shake the pouch gently before you start measuring to properly redistribute ingredients. Use 3g of tea to 12oz of freshly filtered water heated to 175°F & steep for 2 minutes. Strain & enjoy. This tea resteeps well.
to cold-brew: use the same measurements (3g to 12oz) using freshly filtered water in a jar & seal the jar closed. Stash the jar in the fridge for a few hours (I recommend at least 4 hours, but I generally just set it for overnight), remove from the chillbox & strain & enjoy!
serving suggestion: As suggested in the above description: I highly recommend cold-brewing this tea. It takes a little longer for enjoyment, but the wait is well worth the effort. It’s also delicious served hot, it’s the way I had been drinking it every single time I would brew it during Frank’s era, but I’ve since embraced cold-brewing more enthusiastically – because sometimes the results are SO incredible (like with this tea).
So, all that is to say that I enjoy it hot or cold. Right now, though, a cold beverage is probably called for to refresh.
It needs no sweetener, there is a lovely natural sweetness provided by the banana & the peach – so, sweeten with care to make sure that it doesn’t end up too sweet!
