Still Getting Caught Up . . .
Oh! My! Goodness! This is so tasty!
There was a time when I was “anti” peanut butter tea. I’m not exactly sure why except that I – for whatever reason – did not think that peanut butter belonged in drinks. But – I mean – it works in smoothies & milkshakes, so why not in tea?
It was a Frank era tea – quite a few years ago now – that convinced me that peanut butter flavored teas are a good thing & I’ve enjoyed them ever since that first moment when I convinced myself to just give it a try. I don’t blend peanut butter teas as often as perhaps I should, but whenever I do, I’m so happy that I did, because YUM!
This blend starts with a single estate Fujian black tea that’s been gently roasted. Then I added apples & peanut butter essence (don’t worry, it’s actually peanuts & peanut butter free! Your allergies are safe with me!). It’s vegan & gluten-free!
ingredients: black tea
organic ingredients: apples, calendula petals & natural flavors
to brew: use 3g of tea to 12oz of nearly boiling water (205°F) & steep for 3 ½ minutes. Strain & allow to cool for at least 10 minutes. Enjoy!
serving suggestion: I like this hot, but I also found it quite nice as an iced drink too. It doesn’t need sweetening, but I found that the peanut butter notes became more pronounced with just a teensy bit of sugar (I used less than ½ a teaspoon per cup!)
