A New Batch!

I’m SO happy to have this tea back in stock – just in time for iced tea brewing! This tea is fantastic as an iced tea. I usually hot brew it for iced tea – but it’s not bad as a cold brew either. I definitely do prefer this tea iced because cola teas just seem to work better as iced teas in my opinion. That said, I have drank it hot & it’s quite tasty that way too.

I first blended this tea back in 2017 & reblended it a year later for the holiday box. My original inspiration behind this tea was the Ginger Pepsi that was out a few years ago – I can’t find it anywhere anymore, so I guess it was just a limited thing. I don’t drink a lot of cola, but I did drink quite a bit of that particular cola when it was available. I loved the way the warmth of the ginger offset the caramel-y sweetness of the cola.

I reblended this one again because I had a few people requesting it & it’s one that I like having in the fridge as a cold-brew all year round!

These two flavor profiles meld surprisingly well with the richness of this tea blend. So good! It’s a rich, robust blend of black teas (Golden Yunnan, Fujian & Assamica grown in the Jing Mai Mountains) combined with cola essence & ginger (including some crystalized ginger.)

ingredients: black teas

organic ingredients: black tea, ginger, candied (sugared) ginger & natural flavors

to brew: give this blend a gentle shake to incorporate all the ingredients. Those little bits of ginger like to sift their way to the bottom of the pouch! Use 3g of leaf to 12oz of nearly boiling water (205°F). Steep for 3 minutes, strain & allow to cool for at least 10 minutes.

serving suggestions: As I’ve already suggested, this is delicious as an iced tea. In the past, I’ve usually hot brewed it, allowed it to cool & then chilled it. I found the tea to be more memorable when I’ve hot brewed it than when I’ve cold brewed it but try it cold-brewed too! It might be perfect for you. This is good served as a hot tea too – but because of the cola element, I find that I prefer it as an iced tea.

As for sweetener, I do recommend trying it with a little bit of raw sugar – it brings out some of the sweeter, caramel-y notes of cola. It’s good without sweetener but REALLY good with just a little bit of sugar.

YUM!
