Countdown to Catching Up, Part 3 – Tea 7 (Counting Down from 10 to 1!)
I don’t recall where my inspiration for this tea came from – but I’m glad I decided to blend it! This is so good! Rich black teas (Yunnan & Assam) provide a solid background for this lovely combination of flavors. The vanilla tea cake is soft enough to make room for the strong presence of honey, while the lavender provides a pleasant mid-note: not too subtle but not too overwhelming either. It all comes together in one tasty cuppa.
It’s organic, vegan (Yes, vegan!) gluten-free & allergen-friendly.
organic ingredients: black teas, lavender, calendula petals, vanilla beans & natural flavors
to brew: please do give this blend a gentle shake before you start measuring. Both the lavender & the vanilla bean like to shift their way toward the bottom of the pouch, so before opening, turn the pouch upside down & give it a gentle shake to ensure that the ingredients are well-incorporated.
Use 3g of tea to 12oz of water heated to 205°F. Steep for 3 ½ minutes & strain. Allow to cool for at least 10 minutes & enjoy!
serving suggestion: I’ve only tried this tea hot so far, mostly because it’s so tasty that I’ve not allowed it to cool any longer than the aforementioned 10 minutes, but I expect it would be quite lovely as an iced tea. I do like this without any sweetener or other addition, however, I find that just a teensy bit of sugar (less than ½ teaspoon) helps to define the honey notes as well as the cake-like notes. This tea also makes a lovely latte!
