Description
Countdown to Catching Up, Part 2 – Tea 1 (Counting Down from 10 to 1!)
A rich, hearty blend of Assam teas – malty, robust & flavorful – blended with vanilla bean, marshmallow root & enough essence to sweeten the cup & give the cup a creamy, delightful, marshmallow-y & vanilla-y goodness. This is strong enough to serve as a breakfast tea yet smooth & sweet enough to serve at your next tea party.
It’s also vegan, gluten-free, allergen-free, organic & all natural!
organic ingredients: black teas, marshmallow root, vanilla bean, cornflower petals & natural flavors
PLEASE NOTE: some of the labels were printed omitting the cornflower petals in the ingredient section. I apologize for this oversight. Please be aware that there are cornflower petals in this blend.
to brew: I’ve taste tested this several times – so here are my recommendations for brewing the best cuppa: start by shaking the pouch. There are real vanilla beans in this blend. They’re tiny & will have, very likely, sifted their way toward the bottom of the pouch. (Gravity.)
So, before opening the pouch, turn it upside down & give it a gentle shake. Measure out 2.75 grams of leaf to 12oz of nearly boiling water. 3 grams is a bit too much – your cup may be a bit astringent with this much tea in your measurement. 2.5 grams is not quite enough for a good, bracing cuppa – but it does make a nice afternoon tea. But if you’re going for the gusto, go with 2.75 grams.
Steep for 2 ½ minutes. Strain & allow to cool for at least 10 minutes to allow the flavors to develop. Enjoy!
serving suggestions: I prefer this tea served hot rather than iced – although if you like a strong, invigorating glass of iced tea, go for it! If you want to serve this as a latte (I strongly recommend you do because YUM!) brew it a little stronger (use 3g of leaf rather than the 2.75 – or even more leaf if you plan to go heavy with the milk.) & use your milk of choice. Especially good if you have one of those fancy frothers – that will take this to the next level.
As far as sweeteners go, I tend to prefer this with a teensy bit of sugar (a little less than half a teaspoon of raw sugar per 12 ounce serving) because it heightens the notes of vanilla & marshmallow. (Marshmallows are pretty sweet, you know?) But I enjoy it unsweetened as well, so, it really depends upon what you’re wanting from your cup.
