Tea of the Week for July 4, 2016!
Since this week's Monday just so happens to also be the 4th of July, I decided I HAD to create something to commemorate the holiday. At first, I thought about maybe doing an apple pie-ish type of blend - because what's more American than apple pie? But then I decided that I wanted to do something Red, White and Blue to honor our flag.
Red was pretty easy: Raspberry! It was actually a toss-up between strawberry and raspberry, but I decided that I wanted raspberry because the tangy raspberry note would be an interesting contrast for the sweet, creamy notes of the White: Coconut! Blue seemed pretty obvious: Blueberry!
So I utilized these flavors and combined them with my organic black tea base of Chinese (Yunnan) and Indian (Ceylon & Assam) teas. Then I added just a touch of Keemun to the base to round out the flavor and create a nice fullness. It has a really nice, fruity flavor to it and while it's not apple pie - it's a really tasty celebration of our nation's colors!
Taster size is approximately 15g.
organic ingredients: black teas, blueberries, coconut, raspberries and natural flavors.
