Tea of the Week for August 15, 2016!
You may be wondering what a "Pinita Colada" is. Well, it's like a Pina Colada, except without the rum. That's right, a *virgin* Pina Colada. And since this tea already has quite a bit of flavor going on - I figured the rum was not needed. This is a flavor-packed blend of pineapple, coconut and carrot cake flavors with just a subtle hint of spice (primarily cinnamon, but it's a very light touch of cinnamon!)
The base is a blend of organic South African Honeybush and red Rooibos. When paired together, the two herbal 'teas' seem to complement each other nicely - bringing out the best flavor in both types of leaf. Sweet with honey-like notes and nutty flavors, these profiles work well with the notes of the dessert-y flavors of pineapple, coconut and carrot cake.
To the base, I added dried pineapple, large shreds of coconut and bits of freeze-dried carrot and just a touch of cinnamon. I think you're gonna like this one!
Taster size is approximately 15g.
