One of our Holiday VITs (Very Important Tea!)
To create this blend, I used a blend of Fujian & Keemun black teas and a small amount of Lapsang Souchong. Then I added chestnut flavor, a hint of spice and a sprinkling of sunflower seeds for a touch of salt and nutty appearance without adding tree nuts (or complications for those with tree nut allergies!)
I didn't want a heavy smoked note here, I wanted just a touch of smoke to emphasize the "roasting on an open fire" part of the concept so I went really light on the Lapsang Souchong - so for those of you who fear the smoke of Lapsang Souchong, I think you'll find the smoky level here to be quite acceptable. Really, it tastes less 'smoked' than it does roasted, which is exactly what I hoped to achieve with this tea.
Large size is approximately 50g.
